Construction of a new £750,000 family entertainment centre in Brigg is on schedule to be completed in August.
The FunForest Ltd development on the Ancholme Business Park is being developed by two North Lincolnshire families - Nick and Catherine Du Val and Tony and Vicky Forrest. The 8,000 sq ft development is designed for children up to 12 years old and will include separate areas for different age groups.
It will feature a modular structure on four levels with slides, ramps, nets and a tree house.
The main contractor for the building is CLS of Brigg and the structure was designed by C R Parrott Consultants of Scunthorpe. The play structure has been designed by House of Play in Doncaster.
Nick works in the IT industry and Tony in food manufacture. However, they will be working alongside their wives in the management of the new venture.
The play area will take up about one third of the building and its highest point will be around six-and-a-half metres high.
As well as play sessions, the facility will offer refreshments and a cafe with hot and cold food.
Tony said: "We are also looking at developing mums' and toddlers' sessions and will be taking bookings for parties."
Catherine said: "The facility will also be available for private hire."
The new development is expected to employ more than 20 people, including full and part time staff.
Tony said: "We are actively recruiting and people should check the website at www.funforest.co.uk/jobs for details and an application form."
The families said children's leisure was a growth area but they did not feel the area was served by enough good quality leisure outlets aimed at families with children.
Nick said: "We are offering safe play in a secure environment which is particularly important to parents today."
