Recruitment is about to start for a new development offering fun for young families in Brigg, which is on course to open its doors in August.
Hand-picking the 20 or so staff will begin next month, but local job-seekers are now being invited to declare their interest in advance.FunForest Limited, a local company, has now started building its family entertainment centre on Europa Way, on the Ancholme Business Park.
It will be one of the few purpose-built, soft play-based family entertainment centres in the country, and offer safe yet stimulating entertainment for children aged up to 12.
The company has been formed by two couples 'frustrated with the lack of facilities available for young children in the area'.
Directors Tony Forrest and Nick Du Val say they will have 'a hands on approach' to running the centre, and will start recruitment in May for both full and part-time staff.
"Although full-time positions will be available we also understand the need to recruit for part-time staff from the wealth of local skills," they explained.
"It's our intention to be as flexible as possible regarding working hours and patterns to suit both the business needs and the needs of our prospective employees.
"The staff requirements will include at least two cooks and up to 20 assistants, who would cover a range of roles to include that of party hosts, food assistants, receptionists and general assistants.
"We are expecting to see the steelwork up for the main structure within the next couple of weeks."
"The project has proved to be slightly more complicated than we expected, but we are looking forward to opening in August, and are still very excited about providing a much-needed local facility to entertain the children of Brigg and surrounding areas.
"The support we have received from friends, family and local people has been great, and has boosted our confidence in supplying a quality facility within Brigg."
Brigg-based CLS Civil Engineering, of Atherton Way, has been appointed the main contractor and will oversee the construction from start to finish.
The building will be 8,000 sq ft, with the 'play structure' up to seven metres high, and on four levels.
